Robert, are you sure that it has not been modified and confected by Adox? The times and curves are closer to HR-50, which is Aviphot Pan that has been ‘modified’ (probably pre-flashed or hypered [Adox calls it ‘speed boost’] in a gaseous environment) than Aviphot Pan 80 (which Adox sells/sold as IR-HR Pro 50). Plus if Agfa made it for them it would need to be labelled made in Belguim.Leica made a deal with Agfa-Gevaert in Belgium for this Red extended type iso 50 film. In the past Maco (Rollei) and Impex (Adox) did the same. If you have money enough you can make a fancy packing too.
Ok, well, we will see then!If you made the packing in Germany and only the film itself comes from Belgium you are according EU rules allowed to mention it 'made in Germany'. On the other hand too. Packed NC500 OrWo Filmotec in PRC but emulsion and coating done in Germany is about the same. You are not obliged to mention 'made in Germany' packed in China.

Apparently, this is a good way to go since I already have DD-X:Ugh… just now working on my coffee as I need to get moving this morning. 🙂 I’ve finished my workout as usual, but my mind is still a bit foggy. However, I have a few days before my Adox HR-50 film is delivered via USPS.
So, it occurs to me to become familiar with the film and setting the EI for shooting in the morning hours at the beginning of Summer here. I presume I could start at EI=50.
I think I shall shoot the first roll and develop it in Ilford DD-X. Has anyone already worked through a developing protocol with HR-50 and already have a preference? 😇
A few images would be nice to see. Thanks in advance…👍
Can you tell that I am looking forward to a faux Christmas in July? LOL…😂

Interesting that they are saying demand has fallen when all the other manufacturers have said it is increasing sharply.About the Agfa-Gevaert factory in Mortsel, Belgium:
It seems strange that they do not make some regular camera film and market that. Maybe there are historical agreements that are binding for some reason. Or maybe they are just stubborn. For traffic film it is going down fast. Almost all systems for trafic control in the Netherlands are digital. But there will be always a small market left: See Foma X-ray program to China, India, Pakistan etc.
You'll be fine, I switched from DD-X to FX-39 because it's one shot and they are somewhat similar and it works great for HR 50.Apparently, this is a good way to go since I already have DD-X:
- Ilford DDX: Developed at 20°C, 1+4 dilution for 7 minutes 30 seconds with standard agitation.
That’s cool!😎Back in the days... taken from the Leica Handbuch by Fritz Vith. Films for Leica made by Agfa and Perutz. The cooperation ensured a proper fitting cartridge for the costumer who bought a Leica labeled film.
