Leica body + Hexanon lens

My Hexanons 90/2.8, 50/2 and 28/2.8 work wonderful on M6 and M3 (back when I had it). No problems at all - best lenses I used!

Someone not long ago posted some images from a 50/1.2 Hexanon and they were much better than the 50/1 with regards to light fall off wide open. Even if you stopped down the 50/1 to f/1.2, it's still is far worse than the Hexanon. Sharpness seemed as good or better than the Noctilux. You may need to have the camera's rf adjusted to exactly match the lens for perfect focus. This is not uncommon even with the 50/1.

Quick poll --- those of you with a Leica body and both Leica and Hexanon lenses -- do a quick infinity check with each lens... put the lens at infinity, and look at an object at infinity (the moon?) -- are they (patch alignment) the same?

Same thing for Hexar RF owners that have both lenses.

Post results here.

No anecdotal data... unless you have both lenses in your hand it doesn't count.

I will post some Noctilux vs Hexanon 50 1.2 pictures next week, when my friend comes back from Chicago. Any suggestions about the set up for comparing these two lens? Indoor, outdoor? what aperture and etc. I have a M3, M4 and my friend has a M7. I also have summicron 50 rigid. If I have enough time, I will compare them all together.

From limited experience with both lenses, the Hexanon f1.2 is an impressive lens, perhaps sharper than the Noctilux but lacking that little something certain people would call "character."

Both are great, only one is worth the money...

and "character" is something that leica lenses automagically have when other lenses approach or exceed their performance.
