Leica brings us new stuff....

Now I'm not in the market for a new camera, but that 35 EQ f 1,7 on the new X is interesting!

PS: I say this as an x1 owner, of course there are other interesting things ...

They should have made the M-E2 the LCD-less camera, rather than modifying the M240.

Two birds with one stone, and it'd be less fat.

Probably will pick up the Dlux. I have the Dlux6 and really enjoy it a lot. Larger sensor and a few other things got my attention.

What would they upgrade?

This is a really long list. I think a lot of people here would love a M240 body with an M9 or MM sensor. So, in no particular order:

  • Better screen
  • Larger Battery
  • More accurate rangefinder*
  • Quieter shutter
  • Bigger buffer

Leica could make even more upgrades beyond that, but those are things that they've done some R&D on and seem similar to current offerings.

* I am told the M240 rangefinder is more accurate, I can't really tell.

The M240 rangefinder is better.

But what I would really want is an MM based on the 240 sensor. The M9 sensor is simply too old for this day and age :D

...and let the flames come!

Already have an M4-2 but I think it's gutsy of them to bring the M-A to market and I hope for it's success beyond Leica's expectations. Considering how much prices have increased on everything then the $4800 price does not seem unreasonable.
