hi all

New to posting here, not new to visiting.

i got me a borrowed CL from a good friend.
upon first getting the camera in my hands, i tried rewinding and releasing a couple of times, just to get the feeling of it (no film inside); opened the back, took another shot and right there the whole thing stuck.

Now the shutter lever is stuck closed, the shutter release loose (meaning not a shot to fire) and (just thought it's got to do with it) - the little thingie button on the bottom used to roll the film in is pressed in.

can anyone please help?

p.s. i was told by owner that the battery might be dead. Could it be related?

Thanks for any info provided!

(1) Mine did too (not sure it helps but at least you should not feel alone). Despite all the myths I find Leica camera to be not really reliable.
(2) The CL shutter is completely mechanical, so the problem has nothing to do with batteries
(3) From the kind of questions you do I suppose you are not a repairman, and the Leica CL is a nice camera which deserves to be repaired, so I think a repairman is the one who can help you.
(4) Don't force anything! Probably it is nothing serious but if you apply force in undue manner things can get worse.
