You know, I was just settling in to my russian LTM cameras and getting my kit together but NOOOOO. Now I have to scrap all of that gear and get this one! I read on another website I just made up that this camera usesa proprietary memory card that is organic and biodegradable. And compatible with your edison phonograph. But the wax cylinders don't do well in tropical locales.
I especially like the vertical shutter release! Now if it only came painted in that rare desert camo pattern. :bang:

My M5s need red dots!
Not to mention it also doubles up as a self-defense weapon. Although, now that I think about it, it might crack against a skull, in which case you'd wind up without a camera and still mugged.
Nah... not worth the effort. Not to mention that in the stealth index, it ranks about minus 30.
Because it's stealth, right? I mean, the shutter should be pretty discrete...

Wonderfully, at least one person at the leica customer forum thought this was real, and started harrumphing.

Ha..good work dude you made me chuckle!!!
Imagine if the M digital was like that...can you imagine how they'd have to market it!!!
I can imagine the advert now....." Want to take discrete candid street shots? built like arnold schwarenegger? Well you better had be to carry the new m digital! (Optional Car Battery Powered Grip & Motor Winder available!!!)"

Yes, based on the newly developed kangaroo pouch technology, this new digital M lens will easly fit into the camera body which itself will collapse into a space no large than your average MF Haslleblad!

Oh, c'mon, you're being cruel.
Everyone knows that Leica is cutting edge.
Heck, I heard that they are getting into car biz and have developed the "fin" as a rear end design!

Nah, you do not have enough "free time" at work.
You forgot to show the ethernet and bluetooth connections!

I think the picture posted was of the special press version, which if you turn it round has a letterbox sized slot on the bottom of the 'battery' compartment, but as the M Digital has as we all know a fully manual no batteries required shutter it is actually a sandwich compartment. This is for the hungry paparazzi on the endless stakeouts of minor celebs, and is to my mind a highly practical feature.
the non-press version will have an optional plastic insert called following Leica nomenclature the Scooby Do, and following traditional Leica pricing policy will cost £4000.
