No click on my old Elmar, and it basically needs two hands to change aperture

Ride, dive, shoot.
There is no "click" to lock in position on any of Elmar series. My Summar doesn't do that neither.
Latest Elmar-M is designed to have very light aperture dial so you can change it without holding the barrel. Well, at least unless you push too hard passing F2.8.

Sorry if this is a dead thread, but I just found it because I was having this issue with my recent eBay purchase. I have the latest version, SN#378****. The friction tabs were completely flat, so there was zero friction to "lock" the lens in the operating position. I was able to bend the tabs slightly outward (towards the back of the lens) with my thumbnail, et voilà! The lens she is fixed! There is no click but the friction increases enough when opened and turned completely clockwise that it is effectively "locked". I took a pic with my iPhone to hopefully help people with this issue in the future. Many blessings upon you Vic! https://flic.kr/p/BjyQCK
