Leica envy?

Hi,
Just finished selling most of my Japanese rangefinders, I thought i was through with these. After a couple weeks of shooting with a digital i kinda feel like something is missing. Also, i saw a beautiful girl at the market with a M6 and kinda fell in love( with the camera)🙄

Now i am considering picking up a Leica to carry with my kit also so that i can have the best of both worlds. I would love a M6 but would like to take things slow and not invest too much so i am looking for a couple suggestions on a cheaper alternative M body and lens. Something to get my feet wet with.
Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on body and lens.

I think the M6 will be your best bet - simply because it is the cheapest M with a built-in meter (bar the M5 which I've never tried)...

Go for it, you won't regret it (I should know - I now only shoot film; with Leica Rangefinders)

Depending on your preference of focal lengths, an M2 or M3 with a 50mm summicron could be a nice choice as well.

Currently using this combo along with my M7 and 50 Summicron, and loving it very much!

Either way, it sounds like the M2 and a 35 or 50 is a great way to go!

If you don't already have a light meter, then I think M6 is the best value. Do you have existing lenses from your current gear that you can match up with?

Where is this mythical place where beautiful girls have Leicas? It sounds just too wonderful to be true.

I agree with Wil on his choice of the M4P with a 35mm Ultron. This a super combination that just seems to work together extremely well, and it the only RF I need. Plus chicks dig it! 😉
