Leica FF Mirrorless w/ a fixed 28mm lens rumor

a digital Leica Bessa IIIW style (28mm fov) with the S2 sensor would be something, not interested in fix lens 28 ff personally. too many good options in small body an lens are already available.

Few weeks after Ricoh will release GR II that will cost 1/3 of the Leica price.
And that will be at least equal to it.

The cameras cater to different people (ones a small APSC pocket camera, ones a larger FF camera with a VF). How can you know how two cameras, which don't exist yet, will compare to each other?

The minimalist design and size resonates for me. The big lens/small body looks kinda macho. Anyways I love the styling. Call me vain, but this is important to me.

Would Leica do a converter like Fuji does? Am I banned for thinking it?

I support the idea Leica could eventually offer high-quality teleconverters (perhaps 35 and 24 mm?). It's not 1980 after all. Teleconverters don't automatically imply a drop in performance.

Fujifilm recently showed teleconverters don't have to negatively impact image quality. And this was with a sensor micro-lens design that is tuned to a fixed 23 mm lens' optical properties (especially at the frame edges). Yet the teleconverters perform rather well.

Perhaps teleconverters would not be an appropriate option for Leica's lens design. The Leica sensor area is larger too which could be an issue for frame edge quality.

The unavoidable downside of teleconverters is the camera's foot-print grows. This is seems self-defeating to me.

I am thrilled Leica are making this camera.

28/1.7 lens with a full frame 24mp sensor - add the ability to crop to 35 and 50mm in camera (hopefully) and you've got a flexible powerhouse in your hands.

It looks like a X style body, or could be even slimmer and smaller. An aluminium top plate and magnesium shell means it will be much lighter than a M9/240, making it a no-brainer for high quality travel photography.

I am so glad that I passed on the Sony RX1 and the X 113. This is essentially a M240 with 28mm Summilux with autofocus, in the size and weight category of the X 113. This is what I've been waiting for. Thank you, Leica. My bank account may curse me, but my eyes will rejoice. Hopefully.

In celebration of the Q leaks, I'm taking the X out with me today... :)

Leica, make a Q with a 50/1.7 just for me, ok?

to those who wish the focal length was longer, me included, there's always the hope that leica is planning to do the same thing that sigma does with the dp-series.
