Leica film take-up spool?

I'm wondering if a "LTM film take-up spool" is the same one as for the M3? i.e. will they work in both types of cameras?

No, the M-3/M-2 spool is longer than the LTM spool. The two cannot be interchanged.

On the other hand the new style "chrome knob" reloadable cassettes will work in the screw mount bodies, but the old style cassettes are too long to fit in the M series cameras.
