Leica glass on R-D1

My preferred lens for the RD1 was the M Rokkor CLE 40mm f2. If you found the optically identical. Leica Summicron c 40mm f2 you would have the same results. Maybe the CLE has better contrast and flare control do to multi-coating. ... My RD1 is gone but, I still use the 40 on my m8 and M5.

It's good to hear that. I have the Nokton 40/1.4 and recently acquired the second gen M-Rokkor 40/2 as well ... 40mm is a favorite of mine on both 35mm and APS-C formats. Both of these are very nice lenses, and the R-D1 I bought will arrive tomorrow. (I use these lenses currently on the Ricoh GXR-M and Leica M4-2.)

Which frameline setting did you find best to use with the 40/2 on the R-D1?

+1, +2, and +3 on the 40mm CLE and Nokton 1.4
People have difft preferences among them (I also include the 40mm Summi)
Prior tests suggests the cv 40 outperforms the others; some prefer the drawing of the
Minolta CLE.
