It's good to hear that. I have the Nokton 40/1.4 and recently acquired the second gen M-Rokkor 40/2 as well ... 40mm is a favorite of mine on both 35mm and APS-C formats. Both of these are very nice lenses, and the R-D1 I bought will arrive tomorrow. (I use these lenses currently on the Ricoh GXR-M and Leica M4-2.)
Which frameline setting did you find best to use with the 40/2 on the R-D1?

The cv 40/1.4 is sharp wide open and doesn't cost an arm and leg. Some shots look absolutely 3D.

the cv 40 is a great lens indeed...but then i have never met a 40 that i didn't like.

People have difft preferences among them (I also include the 40mm Summi)
Prior tests suggests the cv 40 outperforms the others; some prefer the drawing of the
Minolta CLE.
