Found this Leica set for what it seems a good price. I will pick it up this weekend, but the seller doesn’t know much about it.
Judging from the picture this is some sort of Leica iii.

But what else is in the box? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It looks like the camera has a 50mm f3.5 collapsible Elmar attached to it. The long lens on the left looks like a 90mm and the one directly in front of the camera might be a 135mm. The thing in between the 90 and 135 lenses looks like a viewfinder. The camera's built-in viewfinder is only for 50mm lenses. For others, you need the accessory viewfinder, which attaches to the camera's top in the accessory shoe.

I don't know what the two things to the right of the 135mm lens are.

Before you pay for it, you should look to be sure the lenses, the accessory viewfinder, and the camera's built in viewfinder and rangefinder do not have any fungus in them. Old cameras stored in leather cases are often full of fungus, and that ruins the camera.

I wonder if the large barrel to the right of the Hektor 135 is some sort of microscope adapter / reflex housing, and the item to the furthest right is an associated view-finder ?

It looks like a IIIc. I'm not sure what the thing on the right is. Could that be an exposure meter fitted into the case to the left of the 135? Joe

I may well be wrong and it is difficult to see but the lens on the camera may be Russian, it just doesn't look quite right for an Elmar.

Not sure about the big thing in the foreground, almost looks 'C' mount.

Beware of being seduced by sets in fitted boxes. They can give the impression of being worth more than they are and maybe you are paying for stuff you don't really want.

Mainly, you'll want to check the condition of the curtains in the camera, and what kind of shape that case is in. No musty smells, or dried up and cracking leather. If it's musty, then that will also apply to the camera and lenses, which means the chance of fungus propagating throughout the system.

But a IIIC or IIIF with collapsible 50mm Elmar, 90mm Elmar, 135mm Hectar, and the microsope adapter is a pretty nice set-up. Check with the seller to see if there are other accessories to go with it sitting around in a box, such as filters and hoods.

ps: Now that I've given it a second look, the case may made of harder materials than leather, and might be an insert, as I don't detect a lid closing it over.

The remains of a leather hinge and the lid are in the LH foreground, it (hte case) looks a bit damaged to me.

Regards, David
