Leica Historical Society of America?

I have been contemplating joining the Leica Historical Society of America. Are there any members or former members here who can give me their impression of the organization?

That doesn't sound promising at all.

I heard (and I could be wrong) that it has morphed into more of a social get together group than a photo-Leica group.

I'm a member primarily because I am interested in Leica's history and because I'm a gear head. If you think that RFF is gear-centric... I enjoy the Viewfinder publication and members can access all of the issues online. A great wealth of information there. There are samples on the LHSA website. http://www.lhsa.org/ I haven't gone to any of the LHSA events yet but they look like fun.
