Hi all, I have done a bunch of lurking on this site (and many others) in preparation for opening up the iiif that I acquired recently. There is such a wealth of knowledge here!
In any event, the camera has good overall cosmetics, but was intermittently sticking on some of the high and low speed settings. After much preparation and photographic documentation, I was able to quite easily remove the body panel, along with the cover under the lens ring. I am going to clean out the bits of debris, dust etc. and do a sparing lube of the moving parts, including a clean of the slow speed escapement.
The thing I noticed was that, with the "outsides" off, the fast speeds other than 1000 seem to be working properly. The other thing I noticed is that when the speed dial is adjusted, it lifts up, rotates, then positively seats down into the proper setting for every speed, except for the 1000. For this speed, it only settles part way down and does not release properly. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or not? I imagine I will have to remove the top cover to get into this location as well.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Clinton
