Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
RF adjustment is easy to do at home - have a google for a how to, probably Rick Oleson's page. Horizontal adjustment is behind the large screw on the RF housing, vertical is behind the bezel on the left hand round window as you look at the front of the camera. It takes all of 5 minutes.

Sorry to dig up this old thread but just got my hands on a nice IIIF but both horizontal and vertical alignments are off, plus infinity too. I’ve been searching on Google and here and most searches led to [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']http://www.mediajoy.com/en/lrc/lbal/index.html.[/font]

However, I just can’t seem to open the bezel on the left hand round window, both with my bare hands and with a plier. Do I need a special tool for this or should I just send it in for a CLA? I would rather DIY if I can, though. Any help will be appreciated.
 
Worst case, you force it and it strips the threads and gets much more stuck.

I'd suggest going to a camera shop that deal with used camera. They probably have equipment to handle removing it. It should be relatively straight forward, fast and cheap to have done.

Thanks Brian for your reply. The used camera shops here are manned with guys that sell stuuf, not repair them. So I'd have to send it to a repair tech for an alignment. The thing is, I believe the camera was services by Youxin previously (the film advance is smooooooooth!) so I was hoping I can DIY it. 🙂
