My significant other has the Leica and I am waiting for the Rollei to arrive. A little competition going on here? You bet! I will even out the playing field by loading a roll of B & W for the first time. That's what is loaded in the Leica. Anyone out there have any ideas as to what I might expect ( I will win, of course!)? ;)

All comments appreciated.

I have 2 photos of my son with our dog, one taken with a Rollei TE and the other with a Leica III with Summar. They couldn't be more different! They were taken on diferent days with different lighting conditions. The sidelit Summar shot is smooth and flarey but sharp, the overcast Tessar shot is coldly sharp. For this subject matter, I preferred the Summar.

Thanks, Tripod. The competition is to get the Leica out of the drawer and in use. The auto everything Nikon is what is used most.

Have fun with the 'contest'. If you want to win, you'd better be very good with distance estimation :)

My experience with a 35 S wasn't as exciting. Which lens did you get?

I find the Sonnar lens to be decent, but not breathtaking (even when I managed to get the focus right, which is kinda hit-and-miss with distance estimating). Mind you, I am a Zeiss fan.

The IIIc that I have is just a work of art. It just handles very nicely. Now you have something I don't, the Summar lens. I've seen some very nice pics out of that one.

Hi Will,

Thanks for replying. Sorry to take so long to answer your question. Work gets in the way. :) I have the 3.5 40mm Tessar lens on it. I just got the little gem and am having a ball with it. Reminds me when I was a kid with the Kodak only better.
