The cheapest British dealers would charge at least $350 for the body alone - It sounds a very good deal from this side of the sea 🙂

Check the curtains. I had to replace mine. Also check the focus. Is it bright? Put in on highest magnification. Remove and Look through the lens. Many Summitars are fogged. Sherry Krauter can do wonders on this for only a few bucks. You might expect to pay additional to get the outfit into good condition but it is worth it. This may be the most beautiful Leica and can hold its own with others.

If it is in good condition - it's a great price for the pair. Check the slow shutter speeds, in addition to all of the above.

Joe, if you're going to buy it, the price is ok -- if -- as others have said, you ask about the curtains, the speeds, the finder, etc and whether the lens has cleaning marks, scratches, dings, etc. And, if not, you have reason to offer less and might not get it...

If you're going to sell, I would offer the camera separately and the lens separately as they are and try to answer the same questions for potential buyers... You can check Ebay completed listing and may discover that each piece will bring more than you know...🙂

Check the brightness/contrast of the rf patch/image. Very good price, IMO if everything checks out okay. If the slow speeds are off, don't let this put you off - cheap fix.

A good price for both the Summitar and the IIIf, if bought separately and if both are in good shape, would be in the range of $400 or more. So, yes, $325 is a good deal.

Are we assuming a BD IIIf?? What about a RD ST from about 1955 with a clean Summitar? I'm guessing a fair price there would be around $450?

These are among the prettiest cameras ever made, in my eyes. A fondlers delight, for certain. I love mine, even more than my Zorki 1😀
