Just watched a SuperBowl commercial where a Lincoln ad features a "German student" holding a Leica IIIg chrome body that becomes a digital M (M9?) when he holds it up to take a picture.

He was using a film rangefinder in the commercial then, pull up a m9... which obviously does not have liveview like it shows in the ad.

Interesting nonetheless.

He went from a silver camera -- couldn't get a clear view of it -- to a black M9. Was that first one an M3? The character in the commercial was a "German agriculture student." Do all young German farmers get Leicas???

See and all of this time I was thinking that Leica III's got reincarnated as M Monocrom's - according to Leica's commercial that is. I guess there's always one that wants to be different and go for color.
