Purchased a Leica Red Dial lllf with an f2 Summitar lens.the other day. The camera is in excellent condition . The only sign of wear is the latch has a bubble in the chrome. The camera came with a case, self timer. cable release, lens hood, lens cap, yellow filter and manual (in German). Ran a roll of film through it and it works great. Attached is a picture of the camera and a photo I took. Looking forward to using the camera.

Nice setup! enjoy your beautiful Leica.

That Summitar hood is quite extraordinary (I have one too). You can use it as a snow shovel in emergency situations :}

Cool barndoor hood. I've got the IROOA clip on hood (cone shaped) instead but they both work. I do want to get myself a UV/Haze filter for mine to keep the glass nice.

Isn't the IIIf just a fun little camera?

You sure got your share of the illustrious Leica glow! Congrats on the IIIf, it's a wonderful camera!

Congrats! Enjoy the IIIf and especially the Summitar. Nice lens.

I'll never forget the look on my sister's face when I walked into her kitchen with the IIIf/Summitar w/SOOPD deployed... "What is that?!" :)

I got this from a member here a few days ago and I love it. Just finished my 1st roll and results are more than I expected from the Summarit 1.5. Maybe due to the negative feedbacks I've read in the web.

The Summarit is prone to developing internal haze which will kill contrast and resolution. Once cleaned up, it's a fine performer. Most people appear to use the lens without having it cleaned and are disappointed by the results. I remember Jason Schneider writing about this lens in one of his articles from the 1970s calling it a fine performer. That stuck with me, I have one in LTM and another in M-mount, had them both professionally cleaned.

Very nice photos! I especially like the third one (w/ the chessboard). I bought a IIIc and a Summitar earlier this year from another member here, and have been using them almost constantly since. Barnacks are just fun to shoot (in daylight, that is).

My first Barnack was a IIIc with an Elmar 3.5 collapsable (my Avatar).....I loved that set up so much I had a GAS attack and wound up with a IIIf and a IIIa. They are my favorite cameras if I have a little time to fiddle!!!

Good luck with yours.
