it's just hide and seek
uhm, I got mine (German edition though) for about 25 Euros last year via booklooker, I think as a new one, sealed in foil.
So you could learn German and try to find one then.

Hey you owners. Is it a good book, worth the ticket price?
Eh, not really. There's some interesting tidbits. But I was looking for more Leica Pr0n.

I also have a mint copy of the first (1987) edition that I bought from Australia in 2003. I think it's worth a lot more than $400... It is pristine and the spine hasn't cracked (a problem with the first ed.).That's a newer edition. I got mine "First English-language 1987 edition" for ~ $97 a couple of month ago from a seller via Amazon. When I was looking for this book, older editions (and in German-language) were selling at about $350 - $400.

I bought new about 2 years ago less than $50. I don't know which edition, it covers M7 but no MP. It is a good reference once a while. Shall I sell it for $300-

I have a copy of the first edition (the one with the crap binding), and I bought a copy of the second edition for about $50 when it came out, just so I could have a copy to read and not worry about further trashing the first edition. As investments, both appear to have outperformed my 401(k) in the past year.
