It is getting harder and harder to figure out the current official Leica M minimum advertisng price because lenses in some websites are listed under old pricing. I have compiled the following from various Leca dealer websites:
WATE $5395
Noctilux $5495
21/2.8 $3595
24/2.8 $3095
28/2.0 $3295
28/2.8 $1595
35/1.4 $3595
35/2.0 $2395
35/2.5 $1495
50/1.4 $2995
50/2.0 $1695
50/2.5 $1195
50/2.8 $1095
75/2.0 $2995
75/2.5 $1495
90/2.0 $3395
90/2.5 $1495
90/2.8 $1995
90/4.0 $1695
135/3.4 $2795
Most lesnes increase in $100 interval. 90/2.0 increase $300. 24/2.8, 35/1.4, and 75/2.0 increase $200. WATE and Noctilux increase $1,500.
Accuracy is not guranteed.

it is funny now to see a leica price list like this. at one time i thought all leicas in all focal lengths: that will be the best. now i see through images that i do not see that as true. i have preferences for other brands' lenses in various focal lengths listed here; the 24 is actually a 2.8 i think. so now there are 2 leicas that i'd take if i had the funds: the noctilux 50/1 and the 75/2. ok, there's a third: i have the 50/1.4, which i regard highly, and i would want it if i didn't already.

Thanks, Leicabug. I sit here and look at these prices with an open mouth. They sure are expensive. That said, they are very very good and hand grenade solid.

I kinda made that up.. was it a good gues?
It was.

Personally, there is only one Leica lens I would buy new: a 50/1.4 'lux.
Well, and the 28 f/2.8. But that's almost too cheap to be a Leica.

I wonder if Zeiss is going to do any lens price increases soon?

Makes a great gag reflex test. I find it kind of hard to swallow.

This is the first time I've seen a list like this and the prices really are unbelievable. And the modern lenses are not "hand grenade solid" as described above either. I have a number of the modern lenses and I'm not impressed with their mechanical quality. I have had two 24/2.8 and two 75/2 lenses, and the 90/2 went back under warranty and was fixed. My 35/1.4 was bought used and has been fine. All these are ASPH lenses and I have had mild binding or "sticky" issues with all of them except the 35. Maybe the original owner worked through similar issues with that lens.

At prices like these I think you can legitimately expect the product to be really really good and optically they are. But mechanically I think Leica needs to go and buy a bunch of Konica Hexanon lenses and take them apart and find out what makes them tick. Quality Japanese companies routinely do that with competitor's products and everone benefits. I am certainly not going to buy any more new Leica lenses. I was interested in the 50/1.4 ASPH but that lens is having mechanical issues and I have a pre-ASPH 50 that I love and a 75/2 which is a 50 but two steps back.

Leica buyers appear to be price inelastic but these prices are getting to the point where you have to stop and think about what you're getting into. There is a probability that the product is going to be defective and that will cost you time, money and aggravation to fix or to get it exchanged. Why spend good money on trouble?

No more 75 mm Summilux :<(

No more 75 mm Summilux :<(

No more 75 mm 1.4 😕 Sorry to hear that. What if you had started now with these prices ??? I own 7 lenses from the list. I pay 2739.2 USD in 2004 for the Noctilux NEW (black/silver box)
