Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Oh yes, I'm sure it was long before the Interstate was even a thought.

I happened upon it quite by accident back in February -- I was heading on I-25 to Las Vegas, and rounding a turn I noticed it just off the highway. Drove another 5 miles up the road and decided that I should turn around and go back to take a look (one of the benefits of traveling alone). Don't think I got any good shots there, but it was worth the stop.

I like your shot. I think it was built in the mid to late 1800s?

Thanks, though personally I'm not a huge fan of it -- I was there in the morning (like around 9:00am), and the thing I had a hard time reconciling was that stone wall/picket fence arrangement in front of the church. Didn't quite know what to do with it, as well as those headstones in front. Plus the light was so contrasty -- I had a bit of a tough time with it. Would love to have gotten inside, or to have been there when there was a service.

Another shot from that morning -- you can see what I mean:

As far as where I'm going next month, I'd like to hit up the NW (around Farmington) and the NE. Never been to either of those areas. I usually like to go to Lordsburg, but not sure if I'll make it there this time. Honestly, I have no agenda or route -- literally 10 days of 'wandering'. Just the way I like it!

Wow, dramatic scene ... love the opposed repetition of the devilish metal horns in the front and the shadow of the icicle in the back.
Which focal length did you use, 24 or even shorter ?

Sorry Vince. I wanted to really darken the sky so the crosses would be the emphasis. That's what really caught my eye. The cross in the for ground, the one on the top and the implied cross in the shadow.
