Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Thanks John -- plenty of opportunity out here to exercise (or is it exorcise?) my Catholic guilt!

As the product of Catholic school, I know what you mean. It must be great to be in a location so different and so rich in imagery. Really makes me want to take a roadtrip somewhere...anywhere.

Many thanks John - It's definitely a source of 'rejuvenation' for me, and I'm making this February wander an annual event.

I'm hoping that I can connect with more people while I'm here -- photographing 'stuff' is fine, but I do enjoy the chance to meet new people, talk with them a while, and hopefully get an interesting photo or two.

I agree about people being the heart of a place. But some of your images of "stuff" have a poetic quality that I think is wonderful. That quality is hard to achieve, but when we are able to do so, it makes for an especially strong photograph, one that can say as much about humanity as any people shot.

Any idea what's that pattern on the image, primarily visible from the left edge and appearing to radiate out from the central woman?

I've been noticing some odd patterns showing up on some m246 files, but so far only when I export them as jpeg to edit in silver efex.
