Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Hi Vince,

as of last year I worked a lot with my 2/75, no issues whatsoever with this lens, which I got used for only slightly more than a new summarit. Close up and wide open 2.0 give very shallow dof which I like. 2.5 shouldn't be far behind. Show some more with the Summarit.

These guys look like right out of an idealized movie scene, esp. Mitch #2.😉
Or at least they look like it in your images. Are these for "real" characters or is your vision and processing helping the story?

Thanks Klaus -- these gents are friends of a friend of mine out in Laurel, Montana. Another fellow (not pictured) has built an Old West 'town' on his property, and every so often they stage a reenactment of sorts. I was there when they were rehearsing, and the great thing is that they're about as period-authentic as you can get. The 'town' is amazing - one building is a saloon, one is a pool hall, one is a post office and so on. I hope to be back out there soon!

The left (bright) side of the Gastown image (actually they are both from within a block or two 🙂 is a bit light to balance the interior which interested me more. Maybe I should have taken more care to increase contrast on that half of the image. I haven't been shooting lately with MM so I saw the files and decided to play with and post them. Your knife edge inspires me but I was also considering a Camera and Coffee image for that thread, and I could do it with Monochrom. Always fun to shoot around the kitchen!
