Wow, Allen, you've gone rural. :)

Seriously, very nice. I especially like the first one. Abandoned homes always feel so poignant and have me wondering about all the personal history that passed through them and finally ended.

Thanks John. When in Rome. Love having the MM back. I was up in Lake Geneva Wisc this past weekend working and this was in some off time. I just started driving some of the rustic roads and came across a few old farms. I also wonder about the lives and dreams of the people that once lived in these places.

You do use that camera well. In the first image do you have one where the train makes a complete lower border? I love the contrast in colour and texture between train and building.
The second one is clever.

I finally had a day off so I got out for a couple hours earlier today with the MM.

Years ago I noticed that the native tonal output of the MM (and similarly but somewhat less so, the Typ 246) looks a lot like APX in Rodinal or Scala in the original Agfa chemistry. I've had enough problems opening up the shadows and lower mid-tones to make it look more like Plus-X that I gave up. This:
really shows it. The bright metallic tones and the separated dark shadows and lowered midtones.

I used that here:

Marty, I was always huge Rodinal fan with certain films. I think t max 400 with rodinal 1:50 and tri-x with Rodinal 1:50 are also wonderful combo's. I still have two unopened bottles in the orange boxes hoping to one day have enough space to build a darkroom. Lost my darkroom when I got divorced and downsized some years back.

The Leica MM is the only digital B&W I have really warmed up to. Thanks for the comments and sharing your photograph which on my monitor has wonderful tones.

Hey everyone,

Just found out I am going to have an exhibit in June at Rangefinder Gallery 300 W Superior in Chicago. Opening will be on Friday June 1.

Now all I have to do is print, mount, mat and frame the exhibit and hope the books are finished by then because I hope it will be a book release exhibit. I am in full on panic mode. I hope that a few of you from the area can make it. I will post an official invite as soon as it is all ready to go.

Very nice, Allen. I've got many pics at that location with many permutations of the wonderful shadows. I've never see the highlights along the back wall like that.

This one's from the Jackson side.
