Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Cal, thanks! Your images and reports were part of why I decided to go for the W Nikkor. It's a stunning lens worthy of it's high regard.

W-Nikkor 35 mm f/1.8 LTM

Red scale Elmar (crop)

Particularly good at night, wonderful midrange pop, and detailed rendering. Since I have and love my 28 Cron the 35/1.8 Nikkor saves me a lot of money because I don't need a 35 Lux ASPH pre-FLE. I regard this lens that highly.

Post Script: to me the 28 Cron and 35 Lux ASPH pre-FLE have very similar rendering with smooth OOF. The coice between the two lenses are really only perfered FOV. The 35/1.8 Nikkor really displays great character on the Monochrome. Although not an inexpensive lens due to its rarity, it is a lot less money than a 35 Lux ASPH pre-FLE.

Not sure this is posed or not. Reminds me of a shot I missed many years ago in San Francisco where a beautiful lady had been kicked to the curb with all her belongings by her sugar daddy. She looked a lot like this lady - dressed impeccably and looking like a very classy lady with several trash bags around her with her belongings.

I envy you guys and the Monochrom. From what I see online, the tonal range and resolution of this piece of equipment is absolutely outstanding. But the Monochrom is well outside my price point sadly 😡

Another gig with the Monochrom, pretty shocking good in very low light as usual. For this one I used the 50mm Sonnar and, instead of the Summicron, 35mm Voigtlander Classic 1.4 (first concert with it, can't complain).

The more I shoot the MM in clubs, the more I'm liking it. These were iso 2500, typical mixed stage lighting, 50 asph or 90AA.

All those photos in my last post (with the exception of the last photo) were taken with a 90/2 screw mount Summicron (yes, a genuine SEOOF), but unfortunately it has fungus in it that is not repairable. I only paid $290, so I might as well just use it!
