Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Great to see more gig shots in this thread. The MM is unbelievable for live music, isn't it?

Really enjoyed Ashwin's recent photos too, some strong lights and beautiful processing.

Dave, stunning work as usual, if hard pressed out of your last two series my faves are respectively 3 & 4 and 1, 2, 5, & 8.

More Japan shots from me, been slowly with the uploads lately so my queue is growing:

Lanterns and sakura by night, Nakameguro, Tokyo by fabiolug, on Flickr

Stirring - Y&M Bar Kisling, Ginza, Tokyo by fabiolug, on Flickr

Man sitting and smoking and Fujicolor bench, Nikko by fabiolug, on Flickr

Child drinking in a temple, Nikko by fabiolug, on Flickr

Hotel Onoya sign, Nikko by fabiolug, on Flickr

Fabio, the "Stirring" shot is awesome ! The movement of the drink, the close-up of the hands and the barkeeper in lower light.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys! ^^

Vince, 2nd photo of Battle of Gettysburg is my fav.

Inspirado, nice set from Berlin.

Fabio, the child drinking in a temple stands out!

Dave, the Pintados-Kasadyaan pics are fabulous, especially #3 (the boy in the bee costume). I just got my MM today but haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet. I look forward to contributing to this thread.

First day with the Monochrom. I'm in awe of this camera, but also in awe of the 50 Summilux ASPH that I just got as well. Coming from an M6, I am amazed by the auto exposure (although I feel it's making me lazy) and 1/4000! I am quite annoyed however at finding a few dust specks on the sensor, right out of the box! Really?!

Anyway, here are some photos from around my block.

WK, thanks for joining in. I have mine for about 9 month and I am still in awe;).
Dust right out of the box is annoying, I agree but it will not be the last dust you will have to clean and the MM sensor is a tricky beast to clean. Get a rubber ball blower (e.g. "rocket blower") and try just blowing it off. Body upside down. Otherwise you are in for a wet cleaning session.
Enjoy you camera and use it as often as you can.

PS: How many tiles can you count on the mosaic wall at 200% ? :D

LR vs C1

LR vs C1

Received my M Monochrom just in time for New Mexico Trip.
I used LR on my Win7 notebook during the trip. Back home I discovered LR5 won't load on my Mac since it is 10.6.8 and won't upgrade to Lion.
Since my purchase of the M8 I've used Capture One. I really liked Lightroom on my trip so now trying to decide if I'll purchase C1 V7 upgrade or buy a new Mac. There are features of both I like. I have a lot to learn about LR but I especially like the separation of the white and black tones into two sliders as compared to C1. I like the perspective controls of C1.
Attached is a favorite from Santa Fe.

Thanks Icebear. I tried blowing it off with no luck and I have read that it might be oil from inside the camera. Some have reported that this oil gets less and less a problem after 1000 shots or so. So I guess I'll keep shooting! Ha!

Yes the detail is staggering. The first time I zoomed in, on the cityscape for example, I could suddenly see people sitting in their cars about 1/2 mile away! I couldn't believe how well it holds up.
