Vince, losing half a pound or so must be nice. The smaller the better has become my philosophy.

John

Yes the weight was really getting to me, plus I found that I had more 'misses' than 'hits' with the Noctilux wide open. The Summilux is a great replacement, as is the 35/1.4 Summilux, and I'll likely be selling my 50/2 Summicron and my 35/1.7 Ultron.

I'll miss not seeing some of your nocti shots, Vince, but am very much looking forward to the 'lux duo. I personally do love the 50 asph lux, maybe not as a unique of a signature, but wonderfully sharp and smooth. Also such a good handling lens.

Do you have any thoughts of wanting to keep both 35 and 50 longterm or possibly down-selecting to one or the other one day?

No I think I'll stick with both -- I've pretty much defaulted to both of those views, though I also have a 75/2.5 Summarit (but don't use it very much). Having said that, I probably lean more to a 50mm view than a 35mm view, but it's nice to have at least another option when I'm out and about.

As far as my Summicron and Ultron go, I've had the Ultron since new (at least 10 years) and it's proven to be a great lens. The Summicron is also great, but I just thought that the Summilux would combine the benefits of both the Summicron and the Noctilux.
