Thanks, David. Mine didn't have any obvious corrosion. Sometimes it would get spots with the telltale white rings, but they always cleaned off. Once winter arrived I thought I'd send it off and have it checked.
This lens renders so differently than my Zeiss lenses. But I thiink I prefer this more classic look and may now look for something comparable in 35 or 50. Endless, isn't it?

I have had my MM246 for nearly 4 weeks and use it at every opportunity.

I should probably just send mine in and work it around when I won't be traveling so either really soon or I will wait until the fall to do it.
As for lenses, there are too many possibilities! For me in the 35, and 50 department, I've been happy with plain-jane Summicrons but last summer picking up the 50 Sonnar, it became the body-cap for months. 🙂 I did play with the CV 75 1.8 a while back and that is one I may pick up before too long.

I visited my son in Tucson over the weekend. While there we went to the still life show at the CCP - Flowers, Fruit, Books, Bones. Lots of nice work from greats like Kertesz, Ralph Gibson, and many others.

I know what you mean, though I got rid of my darkroom a number of years ago, selling off the equipment to finance a Leica M9-P amongst other things.
Having the MM246 is like having a darkroom in my camera bag. I had once pondered getting a film camera with a view to developing my own B&W negs again and scanning them, but now I wonder 'why would I want to do that'?

Many thanks! I'm hoping to make my way back out there in early April -- the show at the Leica Store in Bellevue, Washington will be hung on April 2nd, and I'm planning on driving out there via New Mexico (I know, quite a circuitous route!).
