The surf is quite a ways out so I instructed my assistant here to hang close by. After a few minutes he climbed back to the tracks where he waited patiently. The climb from there back to the car is pretty vertical and lots of crushed rocks.

In addition to the still life exhibit now underway, the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson has a show of self-published photography books selected from submissions around the US. They set up chairs and tables for helping yourself and viewing them. Lots of very creative work on display. And such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

That's a local stout that they had on nitro. Theirs is somewhat similar to the Left Hand Nitro Stout, which is much more widely distributed than this brewery 4 blocks from my home. Maybe you've had one on draught? After traveling in Ireland I have a soft spot for Guinness, but this was definitely still a yummy pint. Sláinte!
 
The head on that draught screamed Nitro....I should have guessed that detail as well 🙂

Have not had Guiness in Ireland but there was a tavern around the border of Oakland and Berkeley that I visited a couple of times in the 80s that were known for pouring Guiness at room temp

I'm convinced that Guinness is only at it's best in the country where it's made. It just tastes different to me. Maybe it's a freshness thing, dont know, but it's distinctly different. I tested this immediately after returning from our trip. As for temp, cant say I ever had room temp Guinness anywhere in Ireland (or the UK for that matter), but it definitely wasnt as cold as they serve beer here in the US, which is a good thing. Too cold \ warm does most any beverage a disservice.

And I might be missing the sarcasm\joke, but Slainte is "Cheers!" in Irish 🙂

The name of the beer I had is called the Moo Lab from Platt Park. I seriously doubt they distribute it anywhere. It's a one time special that I think is just in the tap room. The Left Hand Nitro Stout is really a good example of that one though. Edit: Just be sure to follow the instructions on the bottle to "Pour Hard".
 
I missed your parting Cheers reference, sorry. I thought you were letting me know the brewery who made the stout. Apparently there is a beer with that name from a craft brewer in Wisconsin, and a Brewery by that name in Salem, Oregon.

In any case, bottoms up! ....and I have heard the same about Guinness from friends who have had it in Ireland. 🙂
