Three short of legs eleven, which I imagine is a British joke that doesn't travel well :)

More seriously maybe one figure too many - the guy nearest the white leg?

Great capture though!

Not at all. But google isn't aware of that expression, either.

Allen, glad your MM made it home for the holidays.

John

Thanks John but unfortunately it's heading back to NJ. It shuts off and locks up. Tried reseting the camera, different cards that work fine in my M-E and different batteries and still persists.

Bummer. Sure hope they give it priority.

ha ha yep me to...

June for the sensor and now who knows how long though the frames it was working the way it is supposed to sure makes me miss it.

So you been in the crowds on State St, Mich Ave or Dearborn by the market the past few days?

Legs eleven is a bingo call like these

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_bingo_nicknames

I simply cannot believe how popular bingo has become in the UK with many younger people (mainly women) making night out of it. Traditionally it's been the home of older married women who were, some 50+ years ago, discouraged from being in pubs/ Then it all changed in the 60's and 70's and after that the appalling chavettes. The British have an uneasy relationship with alcohol, so maybe that is the reason bingo is popular.

I think the majority of British people's relationships with alcohol would be described as "very familiar" rather than "uneasy"
I agree but there does seem to be a surprising proportion of the UK who will drink to excess, and real excess not 2 glasses of wine, regularly and more worryingly in some ways on binge sessions.

When did this start? Certainly I knew my father and his pals put away a lot of beer in the pub and when I started drinking 4 pints was not unusual but it was very weak, under 3% sometimes. Translate that to 4 pints of a modern high strength beer that tastes of nothing and pow you are smashed! Rough cider was the cheap way to get drunk when I was a kid but it was physically impossible to drink more than two pints of a very 'tasty' beverage :)

I'd say alcohol is one of our major problems in the UK costing huge amounts in health care, crime and broken lives.

Whoops, I fell off my soap box!

Happy new year, drinking or not

Whether you support drinking or not, life is about much more important pressing matters - like the shutter button.

No drinking here. And no more Monochrom. But 2018, and the years that follow, will be monochrome for me.

All the best to all of you for the one about to arrive.

Very nice Albert! Happy New Year to all here, and may this thread press ahead in the New Year- I'd shutter to think otherwise :)

Sometimes life throws you a change-up that you cant avoid taking a swing at... We recently packed up and move from our home of almost 13 years in Denver to take advantage of a new opportunity and adventure in Seattle. Havent been shooting too much with everything going on, but have a few to share from the new home and from a recent trip that we've had planned for a while.
