This is really good.
Many thanks -- I took about a jillion shots of Jack as he was talking with another farmer who was visiting from Alberta (this shot was in west Texas). Pretty much all shot with the 75/2.5 Summarit -- Leica's 'budget' short tele, but a super-sharp lens.

Nice retention of highlight detail. How are you metering those?

Thanks Vince,
I used the camera (center weight) but taking into consideration: The meter often under exposes on my Monochrom, and with the light flat, I over exposed a 1/3rd and 2/3rds which, watching my histogram the "readings" seemed safe to not blowout the snow/highs. I still backed it up bracketing -1/3rd.

Not so sure about this one -- I wanted to keep it dark (as the day was dark), but not too dark.

Like this and like respect of the Leica Monochrome sensor by true professional and street photog like you. No cheese over processing, which is well present in this thread...
Thanks KO!

Nice to see you are still posting w M9M Allen. and nice set here. I wondered if maybe you were going to move to the M10M. I still have my MM but have been preoccupied with my color bodies of late, but no intention to sell or look to the M10M myself. The look that the MM offers is still more than adequate for my needs. My sense from what I've seen is that there is a quality and "grain" or texture to the CCD that is it's own.

PS and welcome Swatch! I particularly like the quiet Sunday.

Hi David,
Yeah still rock'n the original MM. Almost 8 years now. I am seriously thinking about the M 10 M but not until late this year, early next. The quiet shutter, M 10 function, high ISO performance and NO LAG is a big pull to the M 10 M.

I have to say I am enjoying the M10 more and more as I use it

50mm C-Sonnar f 1.5
This is a piece of glass that I have at home that dates back perhaps to the mid-nineties. It is infused with silver and the smoke-like shape in the glass is a rich pink color. Mike is also a photographer, working in Medium Format, Tri-X and HC-110 rarely printing larger than 8x10. His images are rich in texture and reflect an understanding of light and his medium of B&W Gel Silver beautifully.
