Leica M-P Safari Edition

wow, its nice to see Leica occasionally bring out a special edition which is not over priced or a failed concept from the git go.

after the not too memorable Denny Kravits special edition,
its nice to see this one is not brassed out of the box and wrapped in pre torn olive Levis.

It looks good from every other angle except from behind. And the package price, while out of my budget, seems good.

I have never seen any of the Safari editions live, but they usually look nice in pictures.

Me on the other hand, i would prefer to see a company with the status of Leica, to produce a new camera/concept rather than coming up with another "special edition" of the same 1953 concept camera....

A bit useless for Safari photography, at least outside the camp though. A nice set, nevertheless. Probably there last version of the 240 before the new M is announced.

That would be the T then.

I love the "Safari" finish. If I were in the market for a digital MP (which I'll never be), I would definitely be interested. The silver hardware is a little off, though. Should be black as OP said.

The chrome on olive looks ridiculous. I thought a black chrome lens on a black paint body looked bad enough... ugh.

I like the idea of making a special edition camera for combat reportage but they need to let go of their past a little. A desert tan would be awesome, especially because it doesn't heat up as much as black.

And I love how people think these are for Safaris! Ha ha!

I feel guilty now about taking my M cameras on Safari on a yearly basis...

I never particularly cared for the chrome on olive either, but I must say that this is by far their best effort on the theme. I actually quite like it, even if my last safari was in Orlando.
