Hello Theo, I like this image very much. It is made with an M9P, but does not have the look of a digital photograph at all. Very interesting. How did you get this effect? I see grain.

Erik.

Hello Erik, thanks for your compliment. I used the 'middle grain' effect from my standard lightroom 5.7 pre settings effects...nothing special, with maximum effect :) Afther i shot that day, i wished that i shot it om film, but nevertheless it a nice compromise this way.

Thank you Theo, for this information. I also like the color of the picture - that is also on other pictures of you on Flickr - is that also done with Lightroom? From a color original, I presume.

Boris, very nice portrait again!

Yes, al done within Lightroom. From the original DNG file...most of the "work" is done by the lens...as usual.

Theo, is this shot with the Noctilux f/1.0? Nice model and location.

Erik.

No, it is shot with the poor man's Noctilux, the Nokton 50 1.1 coded as a Noctilux 50...works pretty well. Although i find the rendering of the "real one" better. ( the typical "swirl" bokeh is with the real Noctilx in the background, with the Nokton it is in the foreground. Thats what i found out comparing them)

Funny, that is what I first thought, but the triangular "blobs" in the backgroud (left) made me think it was the Noctilux. Must be nice to have both lenses.

Don't you think the Nokton is sharper wide open?

This is what I did with the Nokton:

Leica M3, Nokton 50mm f/1.1, Tmax400.
