Leica M - Post your Portraits

Thanks a lot huntjump and renzsu for the cool compliments....I had an excellent time in Myanmar last time.....

Congratulations Michael, these are wonderful shots and the quality of your scan is really good : just some dust particles here and there, but sharpness and colors are great.
The first one is one of my all time favorites on RFF.com.
Am I correct seeing the Zeiss Planar ZM 50/2 signature here ? Or the Biogon ZM 35/2 maybe ? It reminds me some of the very good portraits made by TWoK in various places and a serie of children portraits in Vietnam made by Fleetwoodjazz with a Biogon ZM 35/2 (unfortunately unpublished from here but some of them are still on Flickr).

Thanks a lot for that comment, that's really cool.....yeah, I am not really happy with the dust particles on my negatives, I have to do something about that.....it sucks........

as far as lenses go, I do not have any Zeiss M lenses......most of these photos I used a 35mm 1.2 nokton....I brought and used all of my lenses (15/28/35/50/90) a lot, but I used my nokton the most....TWoK (Nate) is actually a friend of mine....so thanks for that compliment....that's funny

this guy saw me hanging around taking photos and as I walked by him, he asked me if I would take his photo...I like the way it came out....he looks stoked......

I saw this couple walking down the streets and holding hands....they seemed really happy (in love)....I stopped them and had a good conversation with them.....I enjoy talking with university students and monks about their country...after all they are the future......

cheers, michael

Excellent work, Michael. You're right : it's funny I thought about TWoK when I saw your photos. Maybe you both use the same lab ?
There is something in common in the color rendition and "grain".

First try with my M8 and an Elmar f2,8/50mm from 1959 which arrived this morning, wide open. A little touchup in capture one (more contrast). The focus is a little bit back.

This is a portrait of Milton, known as Blind Milton in the SF region. I met him at the park where his owner was letting him explore. He lost both eyes to a disease, and was born deaf. He walks very interesting, very similar to a blind person feeling his way around, sometimes bumping into things, except he obviously has a really good sense of smell. But it was fun to watch him, since he was very confident but somewhat clumsy. A very happy and adventurous dog!

Thanks slantface :)

Here's another one, shot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
I'm back in Amsterdam again, but will start up a portrait series here as well.

Thanks Koni......I am pretty sure that TWoK uses NCPS, which is in California.......I use the lab down the street from my house...
I use Kodak Pro Image 100 which is available locally, I think Twok uses professional print film/slide film, and sends his stuff to California for processing......I have hung out with Nate a couple of times and I don't think we have the same gear...he always seems to have some sweet gear....and he has some really nice photos.....I am a fan of his photography, so maybe there's something there.....

Well Michael, now I am a fan of your work. You have great portraits : I love them, really. If you have a solution to sell good prints, I'm your man. ;)

2 more street portraits, I blew the highlights on the first one, should've paid a little bit more attention to what was happening in the background:
