Its one shot of a little experiment, taken with M9 + 75 Summilux @ ISO1600/ 1/30sec.
It is the time of year again, that I am thinking about trying a Hasselblad V body with 80mm lens and my standard pushed TriX @ 3200.

As the bug really bit seriously this time, I ordered myself the experiment of shooting the M9 + 75 Lux combo at slowest possible shutter speeds with wide open aperture, to figure out, if the Hasselblad with the slow f2.8 lens is any good for my night time shooting.

What good would the 'blad be, if it resides on the shelf after buying?

It is so serious, I will go for it this time, just reserved a nice starter kit - don't' tell the missus or I'll be damned for one year of daily housework, sofa sleeping and instant noodles (I am going for a 200 series body).

"Is that a new camera [slightly higher pitched tone]?"
"Nah - I have this for ages, look, how dusty it is! … It is so old, it still takes just film [deleting the digital back bookmarks in the internet browser]!"

Should you feel the need to park the M9 out of harms way, I'm up for it! :D

Or, post some more shots of the missus, I'll comment on them and make her happy with your pictures :D

"Is that a new camera"? I hear that once in a while as well. Unfortunately the "it still shoots film" doesn't work at home for me. She knows I shoot only film. Oh well, that's life.

Thanks Hans for the nice compliment ....I shoot 100asa film ....the photos of my friend were shot on Fuji Pro......but all the stuff that I shoot in Myanmar is on Kodak pro image 100....

I don't adjust anything in photoshop.....I guess it's just a combination of how I meter, the film and the scans that the lab does .....my usual lab is much better than the one hour drop off that I used for the portraits that I posted of my friend ......

Thanks a lot Vics.....she is an awesome model/friend to go out with and take photos with......she is very happy with the 15 "good photos" that I sent her.....

Rod, right you are … absolutely!

In the past, I got in serious trouble, when I bought a new lens or even another camera.
I then tried the "ask for permission before tactic - didn't work either, got no permissions, even for lens caps.

Today, I picked up my first medium format.
So that it doesn't stick out to much from the other 35mm cameras, I chose a Hasselblad with the smallest lens.

As a special camouflage strategy, I took all cameras out of the safe, piled them on the table and smuggled the 'Blad in.

The lady came home, went past the table, just glancing and an hour later or so casually asked, how long I would have had that strange old camera there (the Hasselblad).

I don't get it.

Next post will have a portrait though - promise ;-)

Apparently she does have an eye for the gear, Dirk! Two solutions to the situation: try to get her interested in shooting it as well, or flood her with so many interesting stories on cameras from the internet (large pictures included!) that she cannot keep track anymore ;)

Oh, and then there's also the choice between 'tell it like it is' (hate that Don Johnson song:D) and selling to fund buying...

Now, I'll go look for a portrait to post!
