Gandy sells an adaptor to mount Leica M viso lenses on a Canon EOS camera. Has anyone used one of these adaptors? Any comments - good or bad? Is there any reason they would not work with the Canon digital cameras (I'm being tempted by the 5D)?

This guy would be a better person to ask:
Thank you for the link. It appears that he is altering the 5D mirror to fit Leica R lenses to the 5D. I'm interested in fitting Leica M lenses which shouldn't require such radical surgury. However, if no one in this forum has had experience with Gandy's adaptors I may just contact him.

M lenses have a far shorter film to rear element distance than R lenses. This means, if you fit them to a Canon EOS (or a Leica R or any other SLR) that you have to put them so far forward that you can only use them for macro or so far inward that you must use mirror lock. In practice: this is impossible. Visoflex lenses are a different story. There are M-visoflex to R adapters that in turn will fit to Leica R-Canon Eos adapters and then they can be used without restriction, fully manual of course.Steven's apdapter should be the same.
