Leica M10 Has "Notchy" Shutter Release?

Are any M10 users here running into this? If so, do you consider it a problem? I wonder just how notchy it is. My M7 felt notchy at first, but now I'm used to it, it is no big deal.

Then again, could this be a reason that M10s are hitting the used market already? I've seen a few ads for M10s that were used only briefly before going on the used market.

Thinking of getting am M10, and hoping this shutter thing won't be a deal breaker.

My M9-P is notchy either after it's first sensor change, or since comparison with the much smoother M Monochrom. I've tried having it fixed but they achieved little. I don't think the M6 is much better. The closest thing to my M2 is that Monochrom. The metered cameras have requirements that lead to this problem.

So is the Notchiness the result of providing a reference point to mark the end of the metering action and the beginning of the exposure point? Or is it (like the SWC) a design defect that has nothing to do with the metering function?

The half press to activate the meter, press a little further to lock exposure as you reframe and finally the further press to trip the shutter. All mechanical events.

Mine seems just the same as the M7. No issues. I shoot M10, M7 and MP, don’t find the 7/10 that different. The half point hold of exposure is very useful for me.

So it sounds perfectly acceptable, necessary, and not a deal-breaker. Right?
