For anybody interested... especially the Albertans or Western Canadians...
There's a Leica M2 for sale at The Camera Store here in Calgary for $475.00. However, it will need a shutter replacement as it looked as if it's been severely poked. The price might still be negotiable and I believe it comes with a meter and a strap (unaware if meter functions).
I'm not sure if it's still cost effective when you tally in the shutter + a CLA....

if it were a m2R, then it would be a great deal....but i doubt it is. i sold a M2 recently in very good condition, recently cla'd for 625. That was a good deal; this smells like it could have hidden, uncertain fix-it charges: i'd stay away unless there is some sort of guarantee.

Shutter curtains replacement are 100$ (both curtains) by Youxin, CLA is another 100-150$ (if there is no need to any major parts replacement). So it may come up to, say, another 200-300 US$ investment and you have a perfect M3 that will serve you another few decades. At 700-750 US$ in total - I'd say pretty good deal.
The breaking point though might be RF condition....

When I was playing with it, the patches were fine & the VF was bright and clear. Cosmetically, it's in decent shape.
I too was thinking about $300.00 for a complete go-over.

Actually I don't have plans on buying it, but I thought somebody in the province (or in this forum) might be interested.

If I wouldn't have and enjoy my beater M3 brought to a new life by Youxin, I'd be tempted to get this one for 400$, get it CLAed by Youxin and enjoy it for years to come...
