Leica M3 came in the mail today

I really don't like the camera... too big and heavy..

I think I am going to send it back and keep the CLE...

The viewfinder is nice, but the added size and weight is not worth it...

Is there a lighter leica?? Or just stick with my CLE...

I still need to try a CL also.

You could always get a Classic LTM camera, like the IIIf.

You could try the M4-P or one of the other Leica's that use zinc top and bottom plates rather than brass. You can definitely feel a weight difference. They're basically the same dimensions, though.

There's also the ZI, which feels like a feather compared to an M3.

Also, does this mean that you still have four more coming in, or were you joking when you said you bought five M3s?

I'd give it a few days first - don't forget that CLEs are particularly small and light.

IMO, M series Leicas are almost perfect in size and weight for actual use.

I was wrong... I only bought 4. 3 more in the mail..
I forgot one was a IIIF and CL
I have a IIIF in front of me know... It is ok...
I think it might be up to the CL and CLE..
If I want something big and heavy... I have my Maxxum 9 with grip.

I think you are going to stick with the CLE.

The CL is small, I like mine and use it with a Canon 50/1.5 with the M mount adapter.

You may not like the placement of the controls.

I did get my Rokkor 40mm today also... This is a nice compact lens.. exactly what I wanted...

Now I need to get a 28mm.. This canon I have looks nice.. but it is an older lens, I need to test it to see if I like it...

Maybe I will get a chance to shoot a roll with the CLE and 40mm 90mm tommorow.

I still didn't get a m39 M adapter to mount the 28mm on anything yet.

From what I read, the CL is a bit smaller then the CLE..

I am not sure about the rangefinder brightness
