I have never had a chance to shoot with an M5, but people who do own them seem to love them. Some people don't like them but it seems to be based on the appearance of the camera and not on performance.
I would not to hesitate to invest in a nice clean M5 and am hoping to add one to my M family some day.

The appearance of the M5 is what I like the most after the metering.

Mine arrives tomorrow! It will be the first M5 I have ever used. Sell one of my M2's?

What's that thing on the shutter release?
Screw in button. It could be a read one with a cat, but I chose that one.

Another holiday with the M5, summicron 50, and a voigtländer wide angle. I do not bother to take a digital camera along anymore.

Nice shots. I gave up on thedarkroom a long time ago after too many screw ups by them. amateur quality at pro prices...
I highly recommend northcoastphoto.com or thefindlab.com

Well, mine finally showed up from Sherry a couple hours ago. Initial impression is it is heavier then I thought it would be (feels solid), viewfinder with meter looks better then the M6 and it seems to be mint (black 2 lug).
The photos on Sherry's website did not do it justice. And since she serviced it before shipping everything is to spec. Have just put a roll of TriX in it so it is time to shoot.
And it is a monster with the 35f1.2 Nokton attached. I was going to order a 50f1.1 for it but I think I will see how it handles with the 35f1.2 first.
