Leica M6 creaks

Hi-

I just bought a Leica M6TTL. I've noticed that there's a definite 'creak' when the hinged door is pressed slightly. It all looks level, and the creak isn't noticable to very left of the door. Does anybody know whether this is 'normal'?

Mine too -- kinda annoying isn't it? I'd also like to know if this happens with other M's.

I can imagine that it's going to start getting annoying..... The ISO dial sounds almost like the button from the top of an opened jar of baby food. Well, not quite, but it's starting to sound a lot louder since I started fixating on it.....

Funny, I never noticed my M6TTL making this creaking (more like a tapping sound) when pushed in slightly. Mine makes the sound on the right-hand side, not left. No sounds from the ISO dial, though. I've never noticed any light leaks or other issues so maybe it's an "inherent characteristic" of this model.

OK 🙂 While i'm here, can I ask another? If I tape my black m6 with some pvc electrical tape (thinking of covering the red dot, protecting the edges etc), will I damage the camera when I take the paint off? Will it creak?😉

Good to know, now I don't have to send my M6TTL LHSA in for repair. Mine does it on the right side. It looks like that it only happens on the M6TTL. My M6 Classic is quiet.
