Leica M6 TTL Circuit Board Replacement

Has anyone had an M6 TTL circuit board replaced? My meter gave out on me last night, literally out of nowhere while swapping batteries.

I asked Youxin Ye about this issue, and he referred me to DAG. I'm still waiting on a response from Don, but I figured in the meantime I'll ask on here. Has anyone had this done before, or is it even worth it?
 
I asked about having my circuit board changed 6-7 years ago after I drowned my M6ttl in a river and the price the repairer got from Leica (Aust I presume) for a replacement was well more than I paid for the camera new. I'll be interested to see what responses you get.

Don emailed me back, he said that a circuit board replacement would have to be done through Leica. I guess the process requires special handling and software to program the circuit board / meter.

However, he said that if the meter was fine up until this point, the circuit board should be alright. There might just be a loose cable somewhere or something (I'm hoping).

I'll be shipping the camera out to him tomorrow, so I'll keep this updated for anyone interested.
 
I may have a problem like that. One of my M6TTL bodies has a defective flash function and it simply won't work with the SF20 I have. Nothing happened to the body (fall, exposure, collision), so it's just a problem that Leica should address.

Here's the follow up:

My M6 TTL is shot, at least electronically. No meter, hot shoe, or sync port functionality. Don ripped apart the camera and found out that all of the electronics were covered in corrosion and rust. The previous owner must of dropped it in the toilet or something.

He couldn't do anything with it, so this would be subject to a full overhaul through Leica. I imagine a repair like that would probably cost just as or even more than the value of the camera, so just buying another M6 sounds like a better choice.

To anyone with a failing M6 meter, I definitely suggest letting Don check it out before losing all hope. He definitely knows what he's doing, and he's willing to tackle in-camera electronics.
 
Well that sucks a lot! Sorry to hear that, I guess you can always use it as a mechanical body and get a light meter like the VCII for it....

It's all good!

I thought about that, but I was torn on not having the hot shoe or sync port working. I tend to use flash quite often. I ended up selling it to a local camera store.

Having an external meter on an M6 would be pretty cool. I'm sure it would turn some heads, haha.
