I have a Leica M6 TTL, the meter just stopped working today. So, besides changing the battery, is there anything else, besides sending it out, that I can look at? I thought it might have been the cold, but its warmed up since, and put in fresh batteries, still no good. No flickering etc, just stopped.
Thanks

This just happened to my M6TTL today out of the blue. Thought the battery died so replaced it and nothing. No LEDs at all. I was instructed to clean the contacts with an eraser and put in a fresh 3V batter so I'll try the eraser thing tomorrow.

I've read of this happening with some people but haven't seen an explanation for why or what causes it. Im hoping this is an easy fix. Does anyone have insight into what's going on with this?

Perhaps a stupid suggestion and just meant to eleminate the obvious: Did you cock the shutter??

Not a stupid question, people forget to do it all the time.

Yes, cocked the shutter and nothing is happening. I've cleaned all contacts with a white eraser as per Sherry Krauter's instructions and replaced the batteries. I used two 1.5V because I don't have a 3V on hand but I wouldn't imagine that would make much of a difference. I'll get a 3V tomorrow at my job just to check.

I'm getting absolutely no LED readings here as if it isn't drawing power from the batteries. This is completely random and I can't think of anything at all that would have caused this to happen.
