So I just bought an M7 which I love, it's replacing my M4 which I'll be keeping because one does not just sell his M4.
Since I've bought it I've noticed that the viewfinder was hazy and that the focusing patch was not as bright as my M4. I just accepted with it and shot a couple rolls through it.
That's until I've decided that was bothersome indoors where the hazyness is amplified. I thought I would have to send it for a CLA.
But before that, I decided to wipe off the finger prints off the front glass of the viewfinder first. . .
Night and day difference !! the viewfinder is drastically affected by finger prints ! which was not a problem with the M4 I literally never cleaned my M4 and the viewfinder is still fine. I'm guessing that has to do with the coating on the M7's viewfinder.
I then proceeded to wipe off the focus patch window... same thing. my focus patch is now much much brighter and even slightly more contrasty than my M4. again this wasn't a problem with my M4 the patch window was never cleaned in years....

TL,DR: keep your M7 clean and you'll be happy
