This is a cross-post from the dpreview forums FYI...
Just some samples of the CV 75mm Color Heliar from today. I've
noticed not too many people have posted images from this lens, so I
thought it might be instructive. The lighting was rather harsh
compared to close to sunset hour, but when you get an afternoon off
without work or 3 kids, you takes what you gets.
Loaded M8 firmware 1.091, recently (FINALLY) returned first gen M8,
ISO 160 with no post-processing:
I think this was shot at f/4. Handheld:
This was at f/5.6 or f/8 on a tripod with cable release:
Here's a close to wide-open shot (I think 2.8 or 4?) focused on the
wheel for this fence cable, handheld:
I'm pleased as heck with this lens. Small, portable, fast and
seems to have great color. I'm also testing a CV 35 f/1.7 to go
with it, and I ordered a Nokton 40 f/1.4 as an alternative. So far
I like the image quality of the 35 f/1.7 but the focusing is stiff
and slow. However, the Nokton 40 f/1.4 focusing tab is great, and
my copy has very little resistance so it's a great indoor lens.
Unfortunately, I took the wrong lens with me today (the 40, not the
35) so I only have a sample of that one--it did pretty well and
seems like a versatile performer:
