I sold my M8 to help pay for my M9 and I've been kicking myself ever since. Not that the M9 is a dog or anything, it is a great camera but the M8 made great B&W images with no filter or with a 92 or 93 IR filter.
I'll pick up another M8 one of these days. It will make a great back up for my M9 and for the times when only a M8 will get the shot.
I recently got the 'new m' and must say I kinda dislike the shutter sound, compared to M8/9 it's really electrical sounding... Almost not mechanical anymore and very quiete. It's a plus and down side.
