I ordered a Steel Grey Leica M9, after much debate and hesitation about the cost and rounding up the money. I was told that I would have my M9 in about 2 months due to the wait at my local camera shop in Denver, CO. However...and this is the best part, the camera showed up in less than 2 weeks! The main reason for the early delivery was due to the fact that the other people waiting for theirs were not able to afford the camera when this M9 came in, allowing me to snatch this one up.

I guess I'm just trying to spread the word, because if you are out looking for one, just put yourself on the list, and get your cash ready, because once its delivered, you could be bumped up on the list and grab it way ahead of the scheduled delivery date.

Anyone else had this good luck?!? I was expecting to be patiently waiting for months to get my hands on this beauty, but at last, I've got it, and I only had to be a little bit patient.

congrats. i'll have the m9 in 2 years time. having fun with the m8 right now. just focusing on getting solid lens line up.

I waited about 3 weeks. I called the dealer and asked for an update and they had never put me on the list and I have bought a number of cameras from them. So they said they were sorry and would put me in for the next one. Worked out well.

Like any other expensive product ordered in the heat of the moment, I suspect lots of folks have second thoughts when they have to actually pull out their wallets and plunk down the cash. Good news for those who really want to buy, though.

I'm a decided late adaptor. I'll get one in five years time, I reckon. Jumped the wagon with the M8 and sold it, losing money on it. Promise: won't happen again.

Enjoy your M9!

I was told I have one waiting but was able to purchase one a while back. Too bad I can't pass on my waiting black M9 to someone here.

Congratulations! I had to wait for 5 minutes earlier today ;-) .... The steel gray one had been on stock.
