Leica MM: How I would print the proofs on the Leica site

I thought it would be fun to show how I would print the performance proofs on the Leica site for the Monochrome M. The files look like B&W negative scans which is great from a post processing point of view.

A film like sensor? Maybe yes!!!

A film like sensor? Maybe yes!!!

Well from what I am seeing, this new sensor renders like film in many ways. The big one is how much these files look like scans from a high end film scanner, with much greater resolution. The big test will be low light shots at ISO 3200 or so with lenses like the Noctilux, etc,,,,. It may indeed really shine here. If Lens Rental.com will get one, I may consider testing with my lenses.

The cathedral shot was very interesting. People were saying the whites were too washed out, or it was flat, etc,,,.

This is not the case at all. What I did is worked multiple versions of that shot and layered in each section to taste. There is indeed an enormous amount of highlight and shadow detail that I can see.
