Leica MP hits Istanbul's streets

Thanks guys! Im very flattered. More to come...

this was taken with a Elmarit 24mm asph. Hyper focus from my waist hence the odd angle. Everything happened so fast and the moment was gone in a split second.
very nice work! this shot below really stands out for me. how did you take it??? looks like you must have been lying on the ground

Thanks buddy 😉 Im using an elmarit 24mm asph for these 2 shots. The first was hyper-focused.
I really like these two shots ! Interesting composition and excellent contrast.

Did you use by any chance a 35mm Summicron ASPH, ZM 35/2.0 or 35mm M-Hexanon ?

Cheers,

Gabor

yesh! I bought that book. Superb colours shot on Kodachrome. I like it alot alot. Most of the photography books I found in Turkey are in B&W.
Niice. Ck out Alex Webb, master of Istanbul foto.

Hey thanks. Whats HCB??
Very well done,

kind of in the footstep of HCB !

Regards,

Hermann

Ilford SFX 200 ;D
Ooh nice, I especially like the fourth shot.

HCB=Henri Cartier Bresson
That was a compliment 😉

And I'll add one: excellent work!
you can have a look at the work of Semrich, here (He lives in Istanbul)

Hi all, just came back from Istanbul with loads of negatives to scan. Allow me to share some with you and i hope you'll enjoy them as much as when I took them 🙂

Finally someone who has an expensive camera and really knows how to use it! Great work!

Thanks mate. Scanning at 1200dpi (which i usually do for web) will take about 7mins? The b&w usually takes longer about 9mins? Negatives are the fastest. 4mins at times. 😉 Full resolution will take awhile but anything beyond 4800dpi will be interpolated so no point.
super nice work!!

how long does it take to scan 24 frames of 35mm at full res on that scanner? Scans look fantastic.

Haha. They told me to stay there for at least a week or more if I can afford (I havent got much annual leave left). Its a beautiful place, very real and harsh. 7days will allow you to really soak into the city, check out some nice seafood joints and some Turkish tea.
I really liked Istanbul the 2 days I was there. Wished I could have stayed longer. Your shots are great, really capture the flavor.

wow.. compliment indeed! HCB is more hero and I thought you meant something else! silly me. Semrich... I will check out his work... Turkish have some very good Leica photographers.

Really beautiful work....I wish I could go back to Istanbul again. Went about a year ago, but with a group of people very unloving of photography--barely had any time to get out and shoot as I would've liked to. Beautiful place though and you've made some fantastic captures--I was actually just looking at them on Flickr a day or two ago!

dovevadar, anytime I check out flickr I hope to see some new work from you, it's always a pleasure to see your updates!
Istanbul seems like such an interesting place, yet another city on my list of places to visit!

It is a very nice place for photographers. And they are very pro Leica 😉 Flickr is such amazing place to meet everyone. Remember to say hi next time 😉

yes, I think you are extremely rude. for not sharing earlier. nice pictures 😉
I hope this is not too rude, but since it was also an MP, and it was also Istanbul..This is my take on the subject. 😉
