Leica MP kit price with à-la-carte configuration

An authorized Leica dealer in my town has what they call a Leica MP black paint kit: the MP with a Summicron 35/2.0 asph and a Summicron 90/2.0 asph. All in black paint.
The price for this kit is quite favourable compared to the sum of the prices for the individual parts in the kit.

It seems to be a bit hard to get a sensible answer from them regarding a question I have: can I buy the kit with an à-la-carte configured MP and still get the kit price (and of course pay for the à-la-carte modifications)?

I haven´t seen this kind of Leica kit mentioned by other members here, but in case dealers in other countries have the same deal, I would like to hear from members here who may have bought that kit and asked for à-la-carte modifications on the camera.

Hmm, does not sound very logical for me that they would still give the kit price if you change the body to a la carte. Just from my point of view. But that won't help very much, will it?

I'm sure the kit is called a "Leica MP black paint kit" because of the lenses. The MP comes standard with black paint. If you wanted to do some a-la-carte tinkering with the body I bet the price would ratchet. But surely there is an MP body + the two lenses on the dealer's shelf, right? The deal is for the physical kit in the store and doesn't include any extras, no?

The BP lenses are very nice to use BTW because of the brass barrel and rings. I use a BP 35 Summicron but sold my 90 AA. If the price is really good I would seriously think about it.

I am considering this purchase VERY seriously. The price is quite good compared to what I should pay for the individual parts of the kit, even though there are absolutely no extras.

Oh well, I´ll probably go for it without the à-la-carte modification of the camera I wanted: classic engraving on the top-plate. I have to clear up some things regarding finances first, though, so I have to wait a bit.....:bang:

Have you tried the lenses on the camera? The 90 AA is pretty big and heavy and I think you would need to get a grip to help with the handling. There are many admirers of this lens on the forum, but I sold mine because while it was stellar at mid and long distances, it was not that hot when subjects were close by.

It's BP so it would command a premium in the market because of the brass construction and the beautiful finish. I sold mine and bought a 75mm Summicron which I think matches much better with the 35mm focal length. The 75 is a stunning lens and tremendous with close-ups because of the floating rear element, and for a very sharp lens draws really beautifully. Just food for thought while you adjust your finances... 😉
